Object Lesson - Growing Wheatgrass

There are many aspects of planting wheatgrass that transfer to building a strong financial future. Simulating the right environment, proper care and treatment, continual nurturing, and constant assessment are some similarities and take always that can be demonstrated.

How to Grow Wheatgrass without Soil

DAY 1: Soak 2 cups of wheat in a bowl of water for 24 hours. Add water as needed so wheat can absorb water. Drain water from the wheat completely and remove remaining debris from the wheat.

DAY 2: Cut 3 layers of paper towels to fit in the bottom of the plate or container. Wet the paper towels completely with water and leave in the bottom of the plate.

Spread your soaked and cleaned wheat on top of the paper towel. You want your grass to be thick, so the whole surface of your paper towel should be covered with wheat, but they should not pile up on top of each other. Discard unused wheat or make another plate.

DAYS 3-5: Wet the wheat and paper towels using a spray bottle 3-5 times a day. Do not let your paper towels get dry, they should be thoroughly wet, but not so wet that there is excess water on the plate (drain the plate if you have excess water).

DAY 6-12
: Once you see sprouts, move your wheat to a place with direct sunlight and keep the roots moist. Drench with the spray bottle at least once a day.

By day 12 you should have a very healthy crop of grass on its way. Continue to water daily.
