Classroom Management: EGG-STATIONS!

A great way to mix things up in your classroom is to create learning stations. This ensures everyone is working on something, but everyone isn't doing the same thing.

A fun way to incorporate some fun manipulatives into this engagement strategy is to have 3-4 objectives for the day. Each station is set up with in a different location in the classroom and instructions and supplies for the task are provided. These tasks could be digital, worksheets, project creation, or whatever supports the learning outcomes for the day. Each station has a name or number to identify it.

You will need to provide one egg for each student in one of three colors. The eggs can be empty or have candy in them. The teacher holds the master eggs, like the ones shown below. Inside each master eggs is the title or number of the stations. The eggs below were made in about three minutes by hot gluing the egg and Easter grass to a balloon stick (shown here from Amazon but also available at WalMart and dollar stores).

When each student has either a pink, blue or green eggs (use the colors you have access to) the teacher will have a volunteer come up and open the egg that matches his or her color. Inside each egg is the name of the station that egg's color will start with.
